Taste Local!

Every whiskey distillery has its own tasting room. But at BUS Whisky, Taste Local also stands for enjoying local produce. BUS Whisky's charming and attractively decorated farmhouse restaurant features a changing menu featuring almost exclusively local produce. We process produce from our own farm and food forest, as well as purchase from no less than twenty-two fellow local farmers, fishermen and artisan suppliers each week, which we are happy to introduce to you in our menu.

Table d'hôte surprise menu

We do not have an à la carte menu at Bus Whisky. Our changing table d'hôte menu consists of a tasting of a number of different small starters that are originally presented on a whiskey dough. With the main courses you can choose from meat, fish or vegan. And dessert again consists of all small dishes so you can taste a little of everything.

Green menu

We also have a green surprise menu which is vegan, lactose and gluten-free by default, which is a similar weekly menu with a tasting of small appetizers, choice of two main courses and a tasting of desserts. All these culinary dishes are little taste explosions. Of course, other dietary requirements and allergens are gladly taken into account upon request.

From head to butt

We work very closely with our suppliers and put together a weekly menu based on their offerings. In this way we respond perfectly to the seasons and Mother Nature's offerings. Our chefs go to the farm themselves to select a bull or cow to be slaughtered for us. We then process that "from head to butt. We try to process everything that comes from the land. In fact, we give value to products that would otherwise be unintentionally labeled as waste or byproducts by also using the skin or kernel, for example. We process everything to minimize food waste and minimize our footprint. And so our menu is based entirely on that.

Of course, we are happy to accommodate guests who eat gluten-free and other common dietary requirements or allergens.

Home brewed drinks

In addition to the house distilled whiskey, most ofthee other drinks on our beverage menu are also brewed and bottled on our own farm. From home-brewed beers made from our own malting barley and cider made from our own apples to home-bottled craft sodas. Not to mentiothede house distilled eau-de-vie and homemade liqueurs with fruit from our own food forest. We even have our own coffee roastery and tea plantation the de farm. Our farm restaurant is almost entirely self-sufficient in terms of beverages, wtheh de exception of wines.

Because although we also have a small vineyard of our own, we like to surprise you with ontheof de wines on our wine list, all sourced from fellow winemakethe in de Netherlands as well as from Dutch winemakers 'from abroad'. Private dining for groups is possible by reservation on Wednesdays, but we are often fully booked, so you really need to book in advance. Reservations can easily be made online.

Food forest & kitchen garden

Our own food forest is a place where we largely let nature take its course. Many of our people in the service regularly lend a helping hand in the food forest and vegetable garden themselves and can therefore tell you a lot about it. How beautiful is it that our chefs can take a walk through the food forest in the morning and that during this walk, creativity creates new dishes that are presented in our menu the same evening? That is the ambition of our cooks and we are working hard on that.

Whisky tours

Our whiskey distillery is open 7 days a week. Every day there is a tour of the distillery at 4 p.m. On Saturdays and Sundays, there are additional tours at noon and 1:30 p.m. TIP: Combine your tour with a table tasting in the restaurant or dinner!
