Are children welcome to join?
Children & NIX 18
For participation in a tour through the whisky distillery, we generally apply a minimum age of 18. Research has shown that excessive smoking and drinking by parents leads to the same behaviour in children. The advice is therefore to avoid alcohol and tobacco products as much as possible in the presence of children. BUS Whisky therefore advises against the participation of children in our tours, although we realise this can sometimes be difficult given family circumstances.
We have special NIX18 colouring pages for children about distilling. These focus on the technique of distilling, the biology of yeast, and the unhealthiness of alcohol. While parents take part in the tour, the children can entertain themselves with this colouring page.
