This brown BUS Whisky tube represents our finish editions and tells the story of the land our whisky comes from. The design is based on the artwork Iron Ground by artist Lisa Beckers and is used for whiskies that receive an additional cask finish.

Lisa Beckers (1989) works with pigments she collects herself from natural environments. For Iron Ground, she used earth pigments sourced from the surroundings of the BUS estate. Her work is inspired by landscapes shaped by drought, minerals and time – elements that closely connect to the philosophy of BUS Whisky.

A key element in this story is “wijstwater”, an iron-rich natural water unique to the region. When exposed to oxygen, it oxidises and colours the soil in warm, deep tones. This natural transformation forms the basis of the colour palette in Iron Ground, and therefore of this tube.

Within BUS Whisky, the brown tube signifies expressions that, after their initial maturation, receive an additional finish in a different cask. Just like the artwork, these whiskies develop extra layers, depth and complexity through this second maturation.

BUS Whisky collaborates closely with emerging artists and designers. Each label and tube tells its own story, where nature, origin and craftsmanship come together. This tube is therefore not just packaging, but a tangible extension of the whisky itself.
