This luxury BUS Whisky tube is more than just packaging — it's a visual translation of our whisky's origin. The design was created by Amsterdam-based artist Sanne van den Elzen and forms the basis for all of BUS Whisky's bourbon-matured expressions. For this artwork, Sanne made a handmade cyanotype of the soil layers of the Peel Boundary Fault, the geological fault line that shapes the landscape around BUS. This historic photographic technique, recognisable by its deep cyan-blue colour, ties in seamlessly with our distillery's story. BUS Whisky draws from its own "wijst" water spring; when this iron-rich water reaches the surface it oxidises into bog iron ore, a material that from the 19th century onward played a role in the origin of Prussian blue — one of the first synthetic pigments, and the very colour produced by cyanotype.
