This green BUS Whisky tube forms the visual basis for our whiskies matured on fortified wine casks, and tells the story of a landscape in transition. The design is based on the artwork Dryland by artist Liselot Coblens and reflects the layering and complexity of these expressions. Liselot Coblens translated an aerial view of the hamlet of Bus into a handmade textile work, in which various colours, layers and materials each represent an aspect of the landscape and the processes beneath it. The Netherlands is often seen as a land of water — green meadows, ditches, rivers, grazing cows — but beneath that image a quieter process unfolds: prolonged drought changes the soil, lowers the groundwater level and shifts the balance of the landscape. This quiet drying-out lies at the heart of Dryland. Within BUS Whisky, the green tube represents expressions matured on fortified wine casks.
