The cask: A single malt with Brabant pride and Spanish depth. Made from barley grown on the Bus family's own farm and distilled with honour and craftsmanship. This special edition matured in an Oloroso quarter cask that previously held the rich, dark sherry of southern Spain. The Dryland label graces this bottle too.
The tasting: Nose: rich notes of tropical fruit such as mango and pineapple, joined by deep aromas of ripe dates. A subtle spiciness adds complexity. Palate: the sweet tropical fruit tones return beautifully, complemented by hints of bay leaf and raisins — round and elegant, with a pleasant mouthfeel. Finish: medium-long, with lingering flavours of mango, liquorice and ripe figs.
The moment: A bottle for the cheese board, or to close out the evening — the sherry depth pairs beautifully with something sweet.
