Discover the RIS Finish by BUS Whisky – a single malt crafted from barley grown on our own family farm estate, refined through a unique collaboration between our distillery and brewery. For over three years this whisky matured in first fill bourbon casks. This was followed by a finish of no less than two years in a Russian Imperial Stout cask, specially brewed by our own head brewer Bram for the BUS restaurant. Once the beer had finished its time on the cask, the whisky took over. The result: a deep, dark complexity that brings brewery and distillery together in a single glass.
The label of this bottle is based on Iron Ground, a work of art by Lisa Beckers. Lisa works with earth pigments she collects herself from the nature surrounding the BUS estate. Warm, deep hues emerge from wijstwater — iron-rich spring water that oxidises upon contact with air, colouring the soil in rich tones. Just as the artwork contains multiple layers, the stout finish adds extra depth to this whisky. Nature, origin and craftsmanship fused into one bottle.
